My how time flies!
Seems only a year or so ago, I made the life saving transition to eating plant based only. Vegan living inspires this natural interest in growing and living organic. I'm no different.
From that inspiration I dedicated this site to be a nonprofit champion for Vegan living.
This site is space for anyone to harmoniously interact with nature.
Though, this wasn't always the norm for me...
It was March 2018 when I knew my transition to Vegan could no longer wait. I had just gotten off the phone with my parents, both in their 70's, who had informed me that they were trying to change their eating habits. Up until that point, I had been battling deep bouts of depression and was feeling physically and mentally fatigued on a regular basis. But what really convinced me is that I didn't want to miss the fun of trying new plant-based recipes daily. So, after a single conversation, I decided to change the way I was eating for the better.
By September 11, 2019, I officially launched bigmamavegan.com, I was maintaining my Vegan lifestyle with enthusiasm! Every day, I was regaining high levels of energy. And I became satisfied knowing that settling for an average routine of going to meat and grease-heavy fast food drive-thru's was over for me. I'm now able to go further introspectively and create the best version of myself without even thinking about it.
Since January of this year, I have traveled state to state to learn the most efficient small-acreage farming techniques to recreate in my Missouri based gardens. As a home grower, I can grow a practical amount of my own food at home, and share the extra crops with family and friends. Not only am I working in my passion of growing organic produce, but the extra income is a helpful supplement in this economy! Plus, goods and money are circulated multiple times within the neighborhood, leading to visible economic growth.
Beginning this venture of launching a Vegan-focused nonprofit benefits anyone coming out of similar destructive diets of convenience. Whether it's through a farmer's market, a community grow event; watching an instructional video on growing in home crops; or even getting recipe inspirations from a culture outside of your own, Big Mama Vegan is designed to help you grow on the land all around us all year round!
Together, we can blossom into the next phase of wholistic wellness. Share your grow journey with our community!
